WHEN SUPPORT AT HOME IS NO LONGER ENOUGH
When might 24-hour residential care be appropriate?
Twenty-four-hour residential care may be appropriate when a person needs care, support or supervision throughout the day and night, and living at home is no longer safe or possible despite home care and other support services. This may be due to reduced functional ability, illness or advanced memory disorder. Eligibility is always determined through an individual assessment of service needs.

Contact the wellbeing services county’s guidance service for older people and explain the situation. A family member may also help make contact.
Request an assessment
The wellbeing services county assesses the person’s functional ability, need for assistance and whether living at home remains safe.
Decision and next step
After the assessment, the county issues a written decision. A place may be arranged by the county or with a service voucher.

Client fees for 24-hour residential care
A service voucher allows support granted by the wellbeing services county to be used for residential care at Aurora Care. The client pays the part of the price not covered by the voucher.

Value of the service voucher
The wellbeing services county determines the value of the voucher individually. The value is stated in the decision issued to the client.
Client’s co-payment
The client pays the part of Aurora Care’s price that is not covered by the service voucher. The co-payment therefore depends on the voucher value and the applicable service price.
Other costs
In addition to the co-payment, costs such as rent, meals, medicines and other personal expenses may apply. The service voucher decision and the county’s rulebook determine what the voucher covers.

Meet others, take part in activities and enjoy spending time together. Dahlia is for older people living at home who need support to lead an active and social everyday life.
Activities may include singing, memory exercises, quizzes and conversation, with lunch and coffee served during the day.
SERVICE VOUCHER
Day activities with a service voucher
Dahlia day activities can be accessed with a service voucher once the Wellbeing Services County of Ostrobothnia has assessed the need and granted the service.

Assessment and decision
A service counsellor assesses the need and decides on the voucher. It is granted for a defined period and the need is reviewed.
Choosing a provider
The voucher allows the client to choose a provider approved by the wellbeing services county, such as Dahlia when the service is included in the decision.
Fee and included services
The voucher value, any co-payment and what is included are stated in the county’s decision and terms. We are happy to help review the details.

The doctor provides, among other services, medical certificates, health examinations for driving licences and prescription renewals.

Call about an appointmentYou can also come to us as a self-funded client for a short-term care stay. We plan your stay around your needs and wishes.
Our care staff are available around the clock, so someone is always there to help. You can also come to us after surgery or other hospital treatment.
